MARGARET ANN OMELCHUCK

Margaret Ann Omelchuck

September 3, 1937 – January 3, 2021

 

Margaret Ann Omelchuck, 83, loving wife, mother, sister and friend, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021 after a courageous battle with COVID-19.

 

Margaret was born on September 3, 1937 to Helen and William Warden in Houston, Texas. After graduating from St. Agnes Academy in 1955 she went on to receive a degree in X-Ray technology through Sacred Heart Dominican College and St. Joseph’s Hospital of Houston.

 

In 1958 she met the love of her life, Alfred Omelchuck and they were married April 4, 1959 at All Saints Catholic Church in Houston, going on to have six children.

 

Margaret then dedicated her life to being a wonderful and nurturing mother, including fostering babies before adoptions while raising her own six children! She loved to travel, which she did extensively whether it be camping with the family, or international escapades with her husband and friends. Her faith and love of the Catholic church dominated her life and activities. She performed countless hours of volunteer work for the church, tirelessly helping those in need along with her husband Al. In 2013, Margaret and Al were the recipients of the distinguished Dioceses of Austin Lumen Gentium Award from St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wimberley, Texas for their services.

 

Margaret was predeceased by her parents, brother Rev. Thomas Patrick Warden, CSB, and daughter Beth Therese Omelchuck. She is survived by her husband Alfred Omelchuck, sister Sr. Mary Therese Warden, OP, and brother Rev. Daniel Leonard Warden, son Joseph Patrick Omelchuck, daughter Molly Ann Omelchuck, daughter Kathryn Grace Rocheleau and husband Paul and daughter Emmalyn, son Daniel and wife Darnel Omelchuck and daughter Madelyn, and son Gregory Warden Omelchuck and wife Tracey Panek and daughters Beth and Eva.

 

There will a visitation at Thomason Funeral Home in Wimberley on Friday, January 8 from 4 to 8 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. Mass and funeral service will be on Saturday, January 9 at 1 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wimberley. Flowers may be sent to Thomason Funeral Home in Wimberley, 14700 RR12, Wimberley, TX 78676 and contributions sent to The Care of Retired Dominican Sisters, 6501 Almeda, Houston, TX 77021.
