    DOCK HARRISON VICKERS

Dock Harrison Vickers

Dock Harrison Vickers was born as Baby Boy Doe on November 9, 1964 to Virginia Rakes. He was adopted and became Bobby Scott “Patch” Pettiet.

Dock’s life story is one of overcoming. Despite a very rough start, his kind soul remained intact. His legacy is one of helping whenever possible, of loving genuinely, and of being an example of goodness on this earth.

In the process of finding his biological family, he also found the first of his two great loves, Laura Vickers. She assisted in locating his family as his attorney and then after finding his mother had passed away, she also assisted in giving him his own identity apart from the one given to him through adoption.

Dock became Dock Harrison Vickers, and short ly after that Laura passed away.

He started Laura’s Hope in her honor and ran a data recovery service that gave many back cherished pictures and memories from devices destroyed in floods or other disasters. Many of his closest friends met him through this, through music, or through other benefits he helped arrange to help so many in our community when hit with unexpected illness or tragedy.

In 2016 Dock met the second and greatest love of his life, Savannah Lynn. She was his partner, his strength, his biggest sup porter and his angel on earth. She helped him heal from so much, and her love allowed him to become an even better version of himself. They truly loved each other well.

Dock left this earth on his terms on October 10, 2020, surrounded by love, and peace.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Rakes and by Laura Ann Vickers. He is survived by his beautiful bride Savannah Lynn, Aunt Beverly Pohlman, and by countless friends who will forever cherish the gift of knowing him.
