Corey Frank Daugherty

Corey Frank Daugherty of Wimberley suffered a fatal heart attack on Saturday, August 10, 2019 in Eustace, TX. He was born June 26, 1969 in Austin, TX. Corey is survived by his parents Celise and Travis Daugherty Sr., brother Travis (Lynn) Daugherty Jr. and wife Tracey (Rossville, GA), sisters Jeanice Gonzalez and husband Rolando (Los Fresnos, TX), Jennifer Esparza and husband Dino (Brownsville, TX), and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend to many. He began his career in the furniture business in his teens working with his dad. He worked for several furniture companies until 2000 when he went into the oil and gas industry in North East Texas. He returned to Wimberley after an auto accident disabled him and he spent 8 years in and out of hospitals having numerous surgeries reconstructing his legs. In his youth Corey loved fishing, boating and surfing at South Padre Island. He also had a passion for playing guitars. He could listen to a song and then pick it out on the guitar.

A memorial service for Corey will be Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 11:00 am at St Mary’s Catholic Church 14711 Ranch Road 12 Wimberley, TX with burial at St Mary’s Cemetery.
