Clyde Marguerite Alexander McMakin

Clyde Marguerite Alexander McMakin, 102, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2017, with family by her side.

Clyde was born in Waxahachie, Texas, on September 12, 1915, to Eva Eugenia David and John Burther (Burb) Alexander. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Linus L. Mitchell and Brown McMakin, her sisters, Mildred Jeannette Arledge and Anne Nell Eckles, and her niece, Suzanne Elaine Winston. She is survived by her sister, Kathleen Inez Tucker, and many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Alexander clan all her life. She loved playing bridge, riding horses, traveling, and entertaining. Clyde was

an extraordinary cook, an art she embraced while living in Ajijic, Mexico, for 25 years. She was an exceptional business woman, having co-owned a finance business in Dallas for many years. Clyde had a soft spot for animals, especially her cats and dog. In fact, she could often be seen feeding the deer in her front yard.

Clyde was raised in the Presbyterian faith and her Wimberley church family were very near and dear to her heart. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Wimberley Presbyterian Church at 10:00am on Saturday, March 24, 2018. A reception will be held in the Fellowship Hall immediately following the service.

Interment will be private ceremony at Restland Memorial Park of Dallas on March 27, 2018. Clyde will

be buried next to her husband of 25 years, Linus L. Mitchell.
