Charles H. Moland III

June 11, 1942 - February 18, 2020

Mr. Charles “Todd” Moland III passed away Tuesday, February 18th 2020 in Cypress Healthcare & Rehab Facility in San Marcos, Texas. Todd was born June 11, 1942 in Baltimore, Maryland. The youngest of two sons to Charles H. Moland Jr. and wife, Gladys. Todd graduated from high school in Cantonville, Maryland in 1961. Shortly afterwards he went to work for Mobil Oil company for a few years, then felt the urge to fulfill his military obligation by serving in the united states marine corps until 1967. In 1970 Todd decided to move to Austin, Texas where he worked for Southland Corp for 30 years. In august of 1975, Todd married Linda Joyce Birdwell. They were married for 21 years until her death, which was caused by cancer. They had no children between them. In 1997, Todd attended Great Hills Baptist Church where he met Linda Crawford who became his lifelong friend. They were both active in the singles ministry group. A few years later they both moved their membership to Tarrytown Baptist Church where Todd joined the choir as well. In 2000 Todd retired from Southland Corp and moved to Wimberley, Texas and became a member of First Baptist Church, Wimberley, where he served until his passing. A big part of Todd’s life was in early 2000 when he joined a group of Christain volunteers known as “The Carpenter’s Helpers” who provided care for the widows and other needy people. This became his passion, helping others as a faithful servant to Jesus Christ our savior. Todd was preceded in death by his wife of 21 years, Linda Birdwell Moland, parents, Charles H. Moland Jr. and Gladys E. Moland and his brother James Brent Moland. He is survived by his cousin, Gary Witt and his wife, Susan Witt in Maryland. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Carpenter’s Helpers of FBC Wimberley. We would like to thank all the folks at Cypress Healthcare and Kindred Hospice for their watch and care they provided for our brother Todd during his last few days, and of course, TCH and others for their faithfulness to be with him. A celebration of Todd’s life will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, February 28th at the Wimberley First Baptist Church. For more information, visit www.thomasonfuneralhome.com. (512) 847-2226.
