KAPS announces free lunch policy for this school year

Katherine Anne Porter School announced its policy that this school year, healthy meals will be offered every school day to all students at no cost. Typically, a student’s household must meet income eligibil ity requirements to qualify for free or reduced-price meals. However, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) issued guidance that allows schools to offer meals to all students at no cost for the 2021-2022 school year.

‘Cat clings to Climbing Way crossing

A truck towing Bobcat machinery slipped off the Climbing Way Bridge in the Paradise Valley subdivision on Monday morning. According to city offi cials, the accident occurred just after 6 a.m. The downhill slope leading onto the bridge was wet. When the driver pressed the brakes, the heavy machinery caused the trailer to jackknife before it slipped off the edge of the bridge. It took two large tow trucks to move the equipment a little before 11 a.m., after which the truck continued to pull the machinery to its job site. There was no signifi cant damage to the bridge. Justus, Cross, Campbell sweep WISD race

Rob Campbell retained his seat on the Wimberley ISD Board of Trustees and will be joined by two new trustees in Andrea Justus and Nathan Cross. In Woodcreek, Councilmember Jeff Rasco defeated Councilmember Aurora LeBrun for Mayor. Councilmember Brent Pulley was re-elected, and he will be joined on the council by Debra Hines. Voters also approved Proposition A from Hays County Emergency Services District #4 for Wimberley Fire and Rescue.
