San Marcos company partners in Afghanistan rescue mission

With a new year comes a new beginning for 47 U.S. citizens and Lawful Permanent Residents (LPR) recently rescued from war torn Afghanistan. It’s thanks in part to a San Marcos company — Berry Aviation — who partnered with a group of military and special operations veterans known as Project DYNAMO. The two have been working behind the scenes to help rescue those stranded since the Aug. 31 evacuation of U.S. troops.

Classic Car Club donates to Barnabas

The 12 Kings Car Club, which hosts the Coffee and Cars classic car show at Blanco Brew on the first Sunday of every month, donated $575 to Barnabas Connection. The club also made a donation to the Hays Caldwell Women’s Center. The donations came from merchandise sales and other funds collected during the monthly car show. Central Texas Theatre Academy celebrates one year anniversary

Central Texas Theatre Academy celebrated their first anniversary over the weekend. The celebration included a bounce house, face painting station, games and multiple of children’s favorite princesses and superheroes. Pictured at right is Madelyn Hernandez with the ever-popular Elsa from Disney’s Frozen. Far right is Bennie Hernandez with Batman cheering on a good throw in the bean bag toss.
