Veterans attend luncheon to mark Veterans Day

Hundreds of veterans and their families filled the Oldham-Cummings Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #6441 to observe Veterans Day in Wimberley. A barbeque luncheon, organized by Veterans Day committee chair Mike Lukowiak, drew well over 300 people who savored the generous meal with other service members. “It was,” he said, “the largest Veterans Day observance at the post in recent years.”

Halloween takes over the Square

The ghost, ghouls and goblins have headed back into their seasonal slumber but not before they swarmed across Wimberley. There were events across town all of Halloween weekend and into last week celebrating with children and adults alike donning the best costumes around. Many local organizations participated in Boo! Hole at Blue Hole on Saturday before every costumed creature in the valley showed up to the Wimberley Square on Tuesday, Oct. 31 for Halloween.
