WVACA holds spring meeting, introduces president

The Wimberley Valley Arts and Cultural Alliance hosted its spring meeting this past weekend, introducing members to its newest president, Carl Rabenaldt.

The social and celebratory event took place at Vintage Oaks Farm in Driftwood from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 21. Approximately 100 people were in attendance, networking, sipping and snacking for a majority of the event. New President Rabenaldt gave a short presentation — as did new membership director Suzanne Oliver — highlighting the WVACA’s contributions and committees.

WVACA, a nonprofit which partners with The Wimberley View for a weekly music calendar, is also responsible for Bootiful Wimberley, Storyfest, Wings Over Wimberley, the Wimberley Valley Film Festival and Stars Over Wimberley, to name a few programs and events. Its various initiatives enabled Wimberley to achieve a Texas Cultural District designation in 2015, a Texas Film-Friendly Community designation in 2019 and a Texas Music Friendly designation in 2022 — all from the Texas Commission for the Arts.

WVACA, formed in 2013, is run by a board of area artists, arts organization leaders, business people and avid supporters of Wimberley as a vibrant arts and cultural community. To learn more about the alliance, visit wimberleyarts.org.
