Wimberley Valley Arts and Cultural Alliance announces new board, website, member drive
The Wimberley Valley Arts and Cultural Alliance approved its leadership slate for 2021 at its January 2nd board meeting. Deirdre Taylor, who took over as President mid-2020 has been re-confirmed as President for 2021. She is joined on the executive committee by Vice President, Kimberley Springer-Smith; Secretary, Pamela Rudd; Treasurer, Karen Poe; and Past President, Hilda Carpenter, Ph.D.
2021 Board Members
The Alliance welcomes two new board members: Cindy Foreman and Donald Minnick, Ph.D. Continuing members include Carolyn Manning; Carl Rabenalt; Chick Morgan, Ph.D.; Pamela LeCompte, Judy Roach and Roy Cunningham. Former board members Stan Allen and Cathy Moreman have completed their terms. The board expresses deep gratitude for their long commitment to WVACA and for their many contributions to creating a thriving arts and culture community here in the Wimberley Valley.

The board took advantage of the lull in 2020 to re-invent the WVACA website, working with web designer Mark DeGrasse of MegaMad Websites. The new site focuses attention on the organization’s commitment to serve individual artists and arts and culture organization across the spectrum, including the visual, performing/musical, literary and culinary/beverage arts. The goal was to make the site both visually beautiful and highly informative, with a robust membership directory, searchable by category.
Membership Drive
The Wimberley Valley Arts and Cultural Alliance has just launched its 2021 membership drive and encourages area artists of all kinds, arts and cultural organizations, non-profits, business owners and individuals who love the arts to become members. WVACA is an umbrella non-profit dedicated to promoting a vibrant cultural arts community through appreciation, collaboration and education.
