VFW Honors Wimberley Teachers of the Year
Wimberley Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6441 honored its teachers of the year at its March meeting.
The teachers, all nominated by their principals, were recognized for their efforts to inculcate in their students an understanding and appreciation for America’s history, patriotism and citizenship.
Teacher of the year for the Katherine Anne Porter School is Zach McCrimmon who teaches English II, Creative Writing and has developed programs in fisheries and wildlife.
Danforth Junior High School’s teacher of the year is Lori Pharis, head of Danforth’s history department and who teaches History and World Culture.
Lady Texan soccer coach Brinton Nute is Wimberley High School’s teacher of the year. He teaches World Geography and Advanced Placement Government.
The teachers of the year each received a certificate acknowledging their achievement and a monetary award.
