Sexual assault suspect arrested

Hays County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest and begun an investigation involving an adult male subject who was allegedly providing VAPE pens, VAPE oil, and alcohol to young teenage boys in the Dripping Springs area. The report includes on-line solicitation by the adult male for sexual favors from the children.

A comprehensive investigation led to the suspect being identified as 24-yearold Lakeway resident Luann Fabric Campos Leao Hida.

Hida has been charged with Purchase/Furnish Alcohol to a Minor—a Class A Misdemeanor (bond set at $3,500); Online Solicitation of a Minor— a Felony 3 (bond to be set at time of press); and Online Solicitation of a Minor—a Felony 3 (bond to be set at time of press). The Hays County Sheriff’s Office reports that additional charges are pending.

On August 7, 2018, detectives arrested the suspect and conducted searches of his residence, family home, and vehicles. It is believed Hida engaged in his activities repeatedly in the Dripping Springs, Travis County, and Williamson County areas.

Hays County Sheriff’s Office request that people having information on Hida, and his alleged activities, contact the Hays County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division at (512) 393-7814.

“The investigation remains ongoing. Although this case involves a very sensitive topic, we want to encourage potential victims to come forward. Hida is known to have driven a 2010 Silver BMW 300 and a 2008 Black Jeep Liberty Jeep when meeting with his victims,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.
