New chamber director hired

The Wimberley Valley Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors is excited to introduce our new Executive Director Michaelanne Hurst. Michaelanne assumed the position of Executive Director on January 2, 2020. She comes to the Wimberley Valley Chamber of Commerce with over 30 years of experience in the non-profit sector working as an Executive Director and Development Director. “Michaelanne comes to us with the experience and skills needed to keep our chamber stable and growing to meet the needs of our members and our ever changing community,” Jerri Roberts, current Chair of the Chamber Board, said.

Michaelanne Hurst is a 4th generation Texan who loves this great state and especially the Texas hill country. She is excited to serve as the Executive Director because, “Wimberley is one of the greatest communities in Texas with amazing artists, excellent restaurants, gorgeous wedding venues, bed and breakfasts, family fun and entertainment. Serving as the Executive Director at the chamber is truly one of the greatest opportunities in my career and am very excited to begin 2020 serving the businesses and residents of this amazing community.”

Michaelanne began her career serving members at the Texas Automobile Dealers Association as their Director of Meetings and Conventions. There she learned the value and importance of serving business members and associated sponsoring organizations. Over the years she has honed her skills in fundraising, financial and budget management, donor/customer relations, business projects events, program implementation, convention and meeting management, social media marketing and website development, strategic planning, grant acquisition and contract negotiations.

She is an alumnus from St. Edward’s University and has lived in this area for the last 15 years, with her amazing 13-year-old daughter and husband.

Plan to attend the Chamber of Commerce first luncheon of 2020 on January 15 at 11:45 am at the community center. The speaker will be Bob Malone, Executive Chairman, President & CEO of First Sonora Bancshares. This will be a great opportunity to introduce yourself to Michaelanne and welcome her to her new position.
