More than just plays at Players

The Wimberley Players have been providing professional entertainment, right here in the valley, for over forty years. Their theatrical plays are always high quality productions with talented actors which provide a wide range of theatrical experiences.

As for wide range, the Players are first and foremost actors, and as for adapting and taking on new roles, they have done just that. Movie nights, live bands, a concession stand selling adult beverages, that’s what it is all about, providing entertainment and a night out. Adapting during the pandemic.

“Theatre is all about adapting to the circumstances and that’s exactly what we’re trying to do. Since we had to cancel almost our entire season, we’ve moved to doing outdoor activities that we can socially distance. It’s been a lot of fun, and I think we’ve created a really cool atmosphere,” Simone Corprew, Executive Manager of the Wimberley Players said.

Areas are marked for social distancing, and parking is at the Medical Center. On Friday October 16, the movie “Hocus Pocus” will be featured and a live concert on Saturday, October 17, featuring “The Homebodies,” so when you attend bring blankets and lawn chairs.

October weekends feature movies such as “The Creature from the Black La goon” for Halloween, a live radio broadcast of “Dracula” October 23 through 25.

“It’s great to see people out enjoying our venue and laughing and smiling again. We’re trying to provide a way for the community to have entertainment that is as safe as we can make it,” Corprew said.
