Last chance to vote for PEC directors

Voting for the Pedernales Electric Cooperative Board of Directors will conclude on June 22 at the annual meeting for PEC at Horseshow Bay Resort in Marble Falls.

There are two seats up for election on the board for Districts 4 and 5.

The Wimberley Valley is uniquely split into three different districts. District 6, which is represented by Paul Graf, extends west of Ranch Road 12 and FM 2325. District 7, which is represented by Amy Lea SJ Akers, extends east of Ranch Road 12. District 4, which is currently on the ballot, is the area between FM 2325 and Ranch Road 12 and extends north to cover the rest of Hays County.

There are three candidates running for District 4, none of which reside in the Wimberley Valley.

The candidates running are Kathi Thomas, incumbent Jim Powers and Joe Pool.

Early voting has ended for the PEC Election. In person voting can be done at the annual meeting.

Members will have the opportunity to meet PEC staff and hear from PEC experts on initiatives and programs. Attendees can also engage in family-friendly activities, make statements to the board, meet other members, and win door prizes such as bill credits, a Nest thermostat, or a Horseshoe Bay Resort gift card.

Family-friendly activities include an educational booth from our Lineworker’s Rodeo Team and Vegetation Maintenance Team, as well as balloon twisting and face painting.

The annual meeting also marks the culmination of our annual board elections. Members eligible to vote may cast in-person ballots at the annual meeting, and election results will be announced during the event.

In-person voting for districts 4 and 5, door prize registration, family-friendly activities will run from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. The meeting formally begins at 10 a.m.
