A happy and safe Halloween in Wimberley
The city of Wimberley is reminding the community that this year there is no organized Downtown Trick-or-Treating Event sponsored by the city, the Merchant’s Association or the Chamber of Commerce. Last Saturday the city Parks Department sponsored a fun Covid-careful Halloween “Trunk or Treating” Event through Blue Hole Regional Park. Over 250 cars participated in the event, which allowed kids to dress in their costumes and for local organizations and businesses to hand out treats safely.
“The health and safety of our citizens and visitors is our top priority. This Blue Hole Event helped keep our families and our community safe, while providing a ton of Halloween fun for our kids,” said Wimberley Mayor Gina Fulkerson. “We are grateful to our Parks Department and the many dedicated volunteers who worked hard to make that possible.”
This coming Saturday, the city encourages families to celebrate Halloween carefully by avoiding large crowds and areas that cannot practically allow for social distancing. “We know that our caring and creative families will all find their own ways to keep this Halloween fun and safe for all,” said Fulkerson. When making those plans please remember:
Wear a Mask – It’s the Perfect Holiday for it!
Keep your distance.
Keep your gatherings small.
Wash and sanitize thoroughly and often.
“There are lots of ways to celebrate safely,” Fulkerson said. “Find yours and have a Happy Halloween.”
