First Wimberley COVID-19 case confirmed

The first lab-confirmed case of COVID-19 in the Wimberley area was reported today. Officials have confirmed that the case is not within the city limits of Wimberley.  The city of Woodcreek still does not have a lab-confirmed case.

Further details about the case in Wimberley have not been released at this time.

As of 11:30 a.m. on April 3, Hays County had a total of 47 lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and no deaths. Six of the people with the virus have been hospitalized with three of them currently hospitalized.

Overall, there are 36 active cases while 11 have recovered.

More than 85 percent of the cases in Hays County have not had a recent travel history.

There have been 318 COVID-19 test administered in Hays County since the virus was first confirmed on March 14.

While this is the first case for Wimberley, many area cities have multiple lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases.

As of the morning of April 3, San Marcos and Kyle each have 16 cases, Buda has nine, Austin (within Hays County) has three, and Dripping Springs has two cases.

40-49: 9
30-39: 10
20-29: 7
