Community Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving Day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Wimberley Community Center will be the free Community Thanksgiving. The menu incldues smoked turkey, cornbread dressing, green bean casserole, sweet potatoes and dessert including pumpkin pie. Even more, if y0u can’t make it, it can be delivered to you by calling or texting David Lewis at (512) 923- 5380. Donations are accepted year round at the Ozona Bank or on site Thanksgiving Day.

Wimberley Community Thanksgiving Service

You are invited to attend this Community Interfaith Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, November 24, at 4:00 p.m., Chapel in the Hills, Avey Hall, 14601 RR 12, in Wimberley. There will be Special Music from local artists and singers, followed by pumpkin pie & coffee! Sponsored by the Wimberley Ministerial Alliance. A ‘Love Gift’ offering will benefit Barnabas Connection.

Santa at Life Changes

Trail of Lights Grand Opening

The Hill Country’s Christmas treasure, the EmilyAnn Trail of Lights, opens November 30th and runs nightly through December 28th! Steel Mangnolias at EmilyAnn

The true story turned into a now classic and frequently produced play, Steel Magnolias has a little something for every audience member. Steel Magnolias runs November 1-24, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 pm and Sundays at 2 pm at EmilyAnn. Buy your tickets online at www.emilyann.org. Love for Kim Miller at The Leaning Pear

There is a lovely chance for Wimberley to show support for local songbird, Kim Miller, with brunch and music at The Leaning Pear from 11am until 3pm this Sunday, Dec. 1st. Kim’s business was recently destroyed by fire in the wake of a yearlong medical journey, which she’s managed with her trademark tenacity. The Leaning Pear will contribute a portion of the day’s brunch proceeds to help sustain Kim through the coming months of repair and continued healing.

Stocking Stuffer at Wimberley Ace

Wimberley Ace will host a stocking stuffer night on December 3 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., The first 25 adults will receive a free goodie bag. Free beer and wine. Catered by Creekside Cookers.

WimDems Jingle & Mingle Holiday Party

On Friday, December 6, the Wimberley Democrats will host a Jingle & Mingle Holiday Party from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Wimberley Community Center. BYOB. Hill Country Wellness Reset 2020

Tickets are now on sale for the upcoming Hill Country Wellness Reset (HCWR), taking place January 31st - February 1st, 2020 at Old Glory Ranch in Wimberley, TX. The price is $200 and will include two full days of workshops, keynote speakers, vendor exhibits and so much more. Participants will also have the chance to enjoy all the beauty Old Glory Ranch has to offer. Take a stroll along the Blanco River or around the property, or perhaps visit one of their resident miniature donkeys. The HCWR will have something for everyone. Next to Normal by the Wimberley Players

Heart of Texas Genealogy Society meeting

Heart of Texas Genealogy Society will meet on December 5, 2019 at the Wimberley Village Library. Our presentation is “Secret Santa Yourself - Give yourself a present by discovering a new Ancestor”. We will be investigating several little known or rarely used resources that can produce exciting results in your search for that elusive ancestor. Our presentation starts at 1:30 pm. During the brown bag round table from 12 noon to 1:30 pm, there will be discussion time for brick wall problems, best practice discussions, or any other member needs and questions, then “new business” announcements. Our HOTGS meetings continue to meet at the Wimberley Village Library on the first Thursday of each month from 12 pm to 4 pm. We have the Library reserved until 4:30 so will have time after the presentation for more discussion if desired.

Through Love to Light by Wimberley Community Chorus

Wimberley Community Chorus presents their winter concert, “Through Love to Light” December 6,7 & 8 in Avey Hall at Chapel in the Hills Church, 14601 Ranch Rd 12, Wimberley. December 6 and 7 concerts are at 7 pm and December 8 is at 3 pm. Winter may have sneaked in early this year, but for three nights in early December we will do our best to warm things up with a selection of traditional favorites, contemporary classics, and unique international tunes which will welcome in the season with a mix that has something for all ages.
