The Knights of Columbus at St. Mary Catholic Church is offering its Friday Fish Fry 5-7:30pm March 8 – April 12 in the church hall. Cost is $10.

Star Party at Blue Hole

The city of Wimberley and Texas State Astronomy Club will host a Star Party at Blue Hole Regional Park on March 16 at 7 p.m. The event is free and will be held on the soccer fields. Bring flashlights and experience the park like you never have before. Guests are encouraged to bring picnic, chairs and blankets.

Family Campout at Blue Hole

Blue Hole Regional Park will host a family camp out on March 16 starting at 5 p.m. The cost is $40 for a family of 5 in the swim lawn. Children must be supervised at all times. Come pitch your tent and enjoy adventures such as the Blue Hole Star Party, a night hike, a fire at the fire-pit and more. To register for the event, please email [email protected].

City Council Candidates at WimDems Social Saturday

Five of the six city council candidates will speak at this month’s WimDems Social Saturday. Each candidate will give a brief talk, and there will be an opportunity to ask questions. The event is this Saturday, March 16th, 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, at Milagro’s Hill Country Tex Mex, 9595 Ranch Rd 12, Wimberley (aka The Junction). Like all Social Saturdays, this event is free and open to the public.

Tween Curiosity Club

Mapping the Geology of Karst Terrain in Central Texas Using Vegetation

The Native Plant Society of Texas Hill Country Chapter will meet on Monday, March 18 for a program presented by Amy Clark, Geologist UTSA, specializing in environmental geology focusing on water issues. Amy will speak to us on the geology of the area explaining stratigraphic/hydro-stratigraphic units found in central Texas, defining what karst is and its significance to the region, and of using vegetation as a tool in identifying geologic units in the field when mapping. Social time at 6:00 p.m., program at 6:30 p.m. at EmilyAnn Gardens, Burden Johnson Theater, 1101 FM 2325, Wimberley. Everyone welcome! Programs are free to the public.

American Veterans Meeting

AMVETS monthly meeting will be held on the third Wednesday of the month from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Wimberley VFW Post on Jacob’s Well Road.

“State Of The County” Chamber Luncheon

On March 20 @ 11:45 am - 12:45 pm Hays County Commissioner Lon Shell will present The State of the County. Join the chamber to hear updates on county projects and plans for the future. Lunch will be prepared by Creekside Cookers BBQ. Tickets for chamber members-$13.00 per person. Tickets for non-members-$18.00 per person. If attending, reservations or ticket purchases are required and must be received by noon on March 18th. Eliza Gilkyson at Susanna’s Kitchen

Join us to welcome Eliza Gilkyson back to Susanna’s Kitchen Coffeehouse on Thursday, March 21. Doors open by 7:00 p.m. Concert begins at 7:30 pm at Wimberley United Methodist Church (corner RR 12 & CR 1492). Adults $25, students under 18 $5. Sugar Shack Bakery pies, tamales, pizza, coffee, and soft drinks are available. Proceeds benefit Barnabas Connection, Camp Good Sam Wimberley, and Operation Good Shepherd, and provides scholarships for WUMC’s Bright Beginnings Preschool. Spring Spruce Up

March 23 2019, Keep Wimberley Beautiful and the Wimberley Lion’s Club will be sponsoring a “Spring Spruce Up”, a community wide street clean up event in conjunction with statewide “Great American Clean-UP” . Registration will take place at Lion’s Field, 601 FM 2325, at 8:00am were volunteers will receive their location assignments and pick up their clean up supplies. Later, participants are invited to return for a hot dog lunch, prizes and trash related games. Because the majority of the clean up areas will be along dangerous local roadways, there is a minimum age of 16 to participate. Three Billy Goats Gruff at EmilyAnn

EmilyAnn Theatre and Gardens will present Three Billy Goats Gruff from March 2 through March 24 as part of the Children’s Series. The shows are on Saturdays at 10 a.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m.

Chapel in the Hills Garage Sale

Chapel in the ills will host a garage sale on Friday March 29th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, March 30 starting at 9 a.m.

Picnic With The Community for St. Stephen’s

Every year, parents of St. Stephen’s school hosts a private extravaganza to raise money to help fill funding gaps. This year, the school is stepping up the game and stepping outside. On Saturday, March 30th from 3-7pm, a celebration will be held at Vista Brewing in Driftwood, TX. The event is open to all, and there will be entertainment and games for all ages. From bounce houses to beer steins, ponies, to face painting, live music, and farm fresh food – there will truly be something for everyone to enjoy. All proceeds of the event go directly to St. Stephen’s School to fund things like maker’s programs, technology upgrades, and building and playground maintenance. The school is also hoping to increase teacher benefits.
