Wimberley Valley Museum Hours

Go visit the Wimberley Valley Museum during the new hours of operation on Friday’s from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Museum is located at The Winters-Wimberley House, 14068 Ranch Road 12, in Front of the Wimberley Community Center. This Museum tells the History of the Wimberley Valley through stories, photos and artifacts. More information can be found at www.wimwic.org.

A Million Dreams, A Valentine’s Day Musical Revue

The perfect Valentine’s Date with your friends or sweetheart: A revue featuring your favorite Broadway songs, and some surprises from The Greatest Showman! There will be a chocolate fountain, a chocolate and fruit bar, and sparkling non-alcoholic drinks! The event will be at EmilyAnn Theatre on February 14 at 7 p.m. Tickets can be bought online at www.emilyann.org.

WAG Adoption Day

Come to King Feed February 16th from 12pm to 2pm and meet some of our fantastic dogs and puppies! You might just meet your new best friend! All available adult dogs have been fully vetted, are heartworm negative, microchipped and have been spayed or neutered. Puppies have been vetted, parvo tested, de-wormed and have had their shots current for their age and are microchipped. If you are unable to make this adoption event, we are always willing to arrange a meet & greet with our dogs at our Refuge and Adoption Center in Driftwood, TX. Contact us and we will set up a convenient time to meet up.

Expanding Voter Participation in Hays County

The League of Women Voters – Hays County will host a program on February 16 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. The focus will be Diversity, Inclusion and Equity (DEI) related to diverse voting populations in Hays County. We will examine significant data from the county and methodologies related to inclusion and equity. The events is at the SV Cultural Hut at 4002 East Highway 290 in Dripping Springs.

Retirement party at King Feed

King Feed is throwing a retirement party for Chris Nichols and Tim Thompson on Saturday, February 16 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The community is welcome. Refreshments, beer and wine will be provided.

Habitat Big Build

The Wimberley Valley Habitat for Humanity will host the Big Build for the 21st Habitat home at 50 Mesquite Trail in Woodcreek. Weather permitting, the Big Build will be on February 16. Volunteers are asked to arrive at 8:30 a.m. Lunch and drinks will be provided by HEB. Volunteers need to wear boots or solid shoes, bring cap or hat for sun protection and work gloves. Volunteers must be 17 years old or older and will have a sign in log and liability waivers that must be signed.

‘Citizen Response to Active Shooter Event’

February Men’s Group Breakfast will be a Special Event. The Men’s Group is hosting a church wide and community wide event called CRASE. February 16, 2019 8 AM Fellowship Hall at the Wimberley United Methodist Church. CRASE stands for ‘Citizen Response to Active Shooter Event’. It will be presented by Lt. David Burns of the Hays County Sheriff’s Office. Free; No Cost to the public. There will be refreshments and coffee. No childcare and the subject matter may not be appropriate for young ages. EVERYONE is invited.

Mariachi Girl at Wimberley Playhouse

On Saturday afternoon, Feb. 16, at 2:00 pm, the Wimberley Players will offer a free performance by Teatro Vivo of Roxanne’s bilingual musical, “Mariachi Girl.” Alexis A. Arredondo directs. Music and lyrics by Hector Martinez Morales are an integral part of the show. The cast will present a staged reading, rather than a full production.

Music’s in the Air on the Square

The Wimberley Merchants Association will host live music in and around the Wimberley Square from noon to 6 p.m. on February 16. Enjoy and opportunity to stroll, shop and listen to the music in the air.

Mardi Gras Casino Night

The Knights of Columbus are hosting Mardi Gras Casino Night, an annual fundraiser for the Warrior Family Support enter at Brooks Amy Medical Center in San Antonio. The event will be Februrary 16 from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Tickets are available at www.wimberley4th.com.

TreeFolks Grow Your Urban Forest

The Native Plant Society of Texas Hill Country Chapter will meet on Monday, Feb. 18 for a program presented by Andreina Alexatos, Director of Reforestation with TreeFolks. Ina will speak to us on tree biology and function, tree selection, planting and pruning as well as an update on the Trees for the Blanco project. Door Prizes! 5 SMALL CYPRESS SAPLINGS from Treefolks! Social time at 6 p.m., program at 6:30 p.m. at EmilyAnn Gardens, Burden Johnson Theater, 1101 FM 2325, Wimberley. Everyone welcome! Programs are free to the public.

American Veterans Meeting

AMVETS monthly meeting will be held on the third Wednesday of the month from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Wimberley VFW Post on Jacob’s Well Road.

Games Party Fashion Show Luncheon

The St. Mary Ladies Guild will host a Games Party Fashion Show Luncheon on Wednesday, Feb. 20 from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. in the new Parish Activity Center at 14711 RR 12. Games begin at 11:00, lunch will be served at 12:00. The Fashion Show will be presented during lunch by Dovetails of Wimberley. There will also be a Silent Auction featuring many great items. The door prize will be a $200 gift certificate for Dovetails. Tickets are $10 and includes lunch. Reservations can be made by contacting Doris Fisseler at (713) 775-6086 and tickets can be purchased at the door the day of the event. Bring your games and bring your friends!

Hill Country Community Band’s ‘The Rat Pack”

On Saturday, February 23, the Hill Country Community Band (HCCB) will present their latest pops-concert, titled The Rat Pack, at the Wimberley Community Center at 7:00 p.m. Selected music from that jazzy era includes “Come Fly with Me” and “My Funny Valentine”, as well as highlights from Guys and Dolls. Of course, the “rat pack” theme would not be complete without featuring a medley of Frank Sinatra classics including “Strangers in the Night”.

Jane Eyre, The Musical at EmilyAnn

Jane Eyre, The Musical, will be preformed at the burdine Johnson Indoor Studio on Fridays and Saturdays from 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. from February 1st through 24th.
