'Armed and dangerous' man escapes law enforcement at Hays County line

The Hays-Blanco County line was abuzz with law enforcement officials earlier this week, as law enforcement officers from multiple local and regional jurisdictions were called to assist with a reported armed home invasion robbery.

The incident took place in the late afternoon of Monday, Dec. 12, in Blanco County off of Farm-to-Market Road 165, according to the Hays County Sheriff’s Office. The suspect was not immediately apprehended, and the HSCO put out a statement on social media to notify the public.

“Suspect is a white male in his 20’s with short dark hair,” the statement read. “The suspect is possibly driving a dark colored Buick Enclave bearing Texas License Plate FRF6555. If you see this vehicle or have information about this case, contact local law enforcement or you may submit anonymously through Crime Stoppers.”

Additional information from the Hill Country Scanner included that the man had a “tan shirt and a black bag.” It also reported that he was armed and dangerous in the vicinity of Chimney Valley and FM 165.

An “all-clear” notification was issued, as the suspect was no longer believed to be in the area. Rumors swirled that the suspect was spotted in Lago Vista, but no arrests were reported as of 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 13.

The Hays County Sheriff’s Office could not immediately be reached for comment.

This is a developing situation, and more information will be reported as made available.
