We ask that members of the public be patient as we raise the critical dollars to assist as many of our community members as we can.”

Agave

Many Agaves are native to Hill Country. When I moved into my house in 2002 there were Agaves already located here. The deer do not eat them, but when they shed the velvet on their antlers they use the Agaves to help this process. The Agaves look terrible after the deer use their sharp edges to assist in removing the velvet from their antlers.

Bluebonnets

Now is the time for Texas’ best known and most beloved wildflower to dazzle residents and visitors and flower lovers from all over the world. It’s the Texas state flower, the Texas Bluebonnet. For some reason, it seems a little early for me to see these blooms coming out so soon. Guess we have just had the right combination of rain and cold and sun to make it happen. I think the first one I saw in bloom was at the post office. Now they are in bloom everywhere.
