Wimberley Glassworks celebrates 30 years

Despite battling the heat, guests were still able to celebrate “Pearl of a Party” as Wimberley Glassworks celebrated their 30th anniversary.

For Tim De Jong and his wife Vannessa, celebrating both the Glassworks 30th anniversary and having a successful party were both major accomplishments that were achieved.

“It feels like a big accomplishment to have the party done,” Vannessa De Jong said. “To have it be successful and to be honored that so many people came by to celebrate with us. Thinking about it being 30 years for Tim. I cannot describe how proud I am for him and his accomplishments… in the end I just felt really honored”

For Tim De Jong, Wimberley Glassworks would not have been successful without the help of two people.

“What I said to the first group that I talked to, that unfortunately she (Vannessa) wasn’t there for, was that there are two people who are pivotal to our success,” Tim De Jong said. “One is Weston who came here 18 years ago and has been working here ever since. The studio would have never been if it wasn’t for Wes. The other is my beautiful wife Vannessa. She is the one who has made everything look good when I wasn’t looking good.”

The party was highlighted by the Glassworks team’s live demonstrations while also raffling off gift cards, coupons, and Glassworks products.

The party was also accompanied by Roland and the Roots Riddim, who gifted the guests with their smooth tropical jazz.

As for plans for the next anniversary party? They are not sure yet, Vannessa said jokingly.

“30 years is amazing,” Vannessa De Jong said “Now I’m like ‘Oh my gosh what are we going to do for the next anniversary year?’”
