St. Mary’s Catholic Church hosts annual Easter Egg Hunt
The 4,000 eggs were ready, the grounds were ready, and the kids? They were more than ready to hunt for candy eggs and treats that come just once a year at Easter. Family and friends watched as the different age groups participated at this year’s Easter egg hunt. For parents and grandparents it was hard to not help their kids when the eggs are right there in front of them.
One volunteer, Aspen Hamilton has donned a rabbit costume for the past 4 or 5 years and has been volunteering at the hunt for the past nine years or so. As she is a graduating senior at WHS, this is probably the last egg hunt she will participate as an Easter bunny.
But really the story is the kids who hunt the eggs. Their excitement and their happiness exudes from the church grounds and rubs off on the adults. Religious Education Director Minerva Martinez makes sure all the children have lots of eggs and a good time to remember Easter, memories that will last for a long time.
