Singer/Songwriter, Marcy Grace, Plays November’s Market Days

Host of Market Days, the Wimberley Lions Club meets on the first and third Tuesdays of each month, at 6:00 p.m. Being one of the largest clubs in Texas, the large room at the Wimberley Community Center is their meeting place. Members of the Programs Committee are tasked with filling the annual calendar with programs which aim to educate, promote service organizations, and entertain. At one recent meeting, entertainment was on the night’s agenda, and that entertainment was Marcy Grace, a talented, young singer/songwriter from San Antonio.

Before taking to the microphone to perform several songs, she chatted with Lions about her blossoming career in music. Her speaking voice was quiet and her manner was demure. However, when she took to the stage, she transformed into an energetic and powerful performer. Grace said, “I had a wonderful experience at the Lions meeting! It is such a welcoming and kind atmosphere, and I really loved getting to meet everyone! I of course had a blast getting to sing some songs as well!”

Earlier this year, she was “discovered” while playing a Market Days, and subsequentally invited to sing at a regular meeting. Grace will make another appearance at Lions Field for November’s Market Days with future dates on schedule. Referring to her first appearance there, she said, “I had an awesome time at Market Days! My first time, I really didn’t know what to expect, I had no idea it was as big as it was! It is such a cool place to be, there is so much to look at. The volunteers are all so welcoming and nice, it really made it a great time! The crowd is a blast too!”

When asked about her songwriting style, she said, “My writing really has a combo of styles! I say it’s Country with elements of Americana and Rock. I grew up listening to a great variety of music, and I think it really shows in my songwriting. My music is Grace said, “We had a blast recording this album and I think listeners will have a blast too!”

inspired by many different things. Some about my life experiences, some about friends, and some by stories that pop into my head. I’m very melodically driven, so melodies always drive the song for me. When writing, I always try to write about real things that happen in our lives. I really love that we as songwriters can write something that speaks to or is relatable to other people. If I can touch someone’s life with a song, then I have done what I set out to do.”

Grace explained that her album, No Limits, pushed the limits of Country while incorporating elements of Rock and Americana. She said, “No Limits is a high energy and attention-grabbing collection of songs that I wrote. I love that each song on No Limits has its own uniqueness. A love-atfirst-sight story from the album’s opener ‘I Wanna’, to a good old-fashioned song about life in ‘Country Livin’ 101’, it is sure to hit home in listeners’ hearts.” The album was recorded in San Antonio with Grammy-winning producer and engineer, Marius Perron.
