RX Drug Take Back Day picks up 390 pounds of drugs
The RX Drug Take Back Day was a huge success.
In fact, it was a bit more than Keep Wimberley Beautiful and the Hays County Constable Precinct 3 office planned for as the amount of drugs dropped off by residents for proper disposal filled more boxes than they had on hand.
In total, 390 pounds of drugs were dropped off, when previous collections were in the range of 100 to 150 pounds.
The RX Drug Take Back Day is important because it is difficult to dispose of prescription drugs without having a negative impact on the environment. Take Back Day is a national movement to help facilitate the process appropriately.
On scene at the collection were Linda Lang, Deputy Constable Keith Tomlin and Ann Arendarczyk.
