KEEP WINBERLEY BEAUTIFUL

I’m sure everyone in Wimberley and our visitors notice the three Welcome to Wimberley entrance signs on the north and south sides of RR12 and on the east side of 3237. (Not that there is a west side.) These signs have been there for more than thirty-three years as they were there when I moved to Wimberley. I have been unable to learn who first built or sponsored them. If anyone knows, I would be glad to acknowledge their work. There used to be a fourth sign in front of where the school administration building is on 2325. However, this sign was removed when the administration building was remodeled and it has not been replaced. Though some effort was made to do so, the project kept falling through the cracks. Perhaps someday it will be completed.

In the meantime, most of you probably do not know that Keep Wimberley Beautiful has maintained these signs for over thirty years. Various craftsmen, including Fred Franz, helped KWB re build them at times. For almost two years, Ninja Mowing has donated their services to mow the areas around all three signs. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Ninja Mowing.

The signs are now beautifully decorated for the Christmas season. These special touches have been done by Bill Scheel and Daniel Brunner. It is caring and giving Wimberley people like Ninja Mowing, Bill and Daniel and sponsors like Keep Wimberley Beautiful who do indeed continue to make Wimberley that “little bit of heaven” we all love. Our heartiest thanks to all of you and please enjoy the delightful Christmas touches.
