Hays County Master Gardener Association Fall Class is now enrolling

The Hays County Master Gardener Association announces the Fall training program. Classes will begin

Saturday, September 1, 2018 and conclude on Saturday November 3, 2018. Applications are due by 5:00pm

August 17, 2018 or when the class reaches capacity. Click the link below to complete the application and volunteer agreement. Payment must be included with application. The locations of the classes will be at AgriLife Extension Office, 200 Stillwater, Freeman Ranch or the Jacob’s Well Nature Area Building in Wimberley and other Hays County locations.

The classes feature speakers from the horticultural/gardening industry and present programs to expand gardening knowledge. Master Gardeners play an important role in the improvement of Hays County volunteering in approved projects which improve parks, historic/ government buildings, schools and community garden plots. There are lectures, tours and hands on activities.

The total cost of the training is $200.00 if submitted with the application. Cash or check only and this is a nonrefundable payment. If payment is made after August 17, 2018 the cost increases to $225.00. Make checks payable to HCMG Association. The cost of the course includes the Master Gardener Handbook, soil analysis from Texas A&M University, background identification, badge fees, as well as other training materials and costs associated with the training.

Class enrollment is limited to 30 applicants. Applications are due no later than August 17, 2018. The signed volunteer form agreement application must be included. Applicants will be notified of their acceptance into the Fall 2018 class.
