For at least 20 years or so, Deer Creek of Wimberley has been hosting an Easter egg hunt for the elementary students of WISD with fun and games of all sorts for the children. Due to the construction going on next door to the facility, and loss of prime egg hunting space, the fun event was for kindergarteners and toddlers only.
But it was still a great time with train rides, a petting zoo, games and prizes, but the most fun of all, eggs packed with every kind of candy imaginable. Residents sat and enjoyed the scrambling kids and who were trying to get as many eggs as possible.
“This year is a transition year, losing those lots that the egg hunt usually is on. It was a challenge but the kids and residents enjoyed it. It was thrilling to watch the kids, as usual, enjoy themselves,” Courtney Taylor, Activities Director of Deer Creek of Wimberley said.
