Bold Beauty Project Texas expands outside of Wimberley

Austin will soon have the opportunity to examine what is truly beautiful in America! Bold Beauty Project Texas is a visual arts display focused on 20 incredible women affected by various disabilities and health challenges. Through the creative lenses of award winning photographers and personal stories by each model, the project seeks to exhibit these bold women in a way that shows that strength, sensuality, and spirit are also elements of beauty.

One of the goals of this photographic exhibition is to break down stigma associated with disabilities. It aims to encourage popular media to recognize the beauty of courageous women who do not yield to their disabilities. Another goal is one of inspiration, especially for young women discouraged by living in a too-often unfriendly world and culture. Here are role models who do not give up and, in the process, become even more beautiful.

The Bold Beauty Project Texas exhibition will be at The People’s Gallery, Second Floor, Austin City Hall, February 5th through December 31st, with a grand reception on Friday, February 22nd, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Subsequent receptions will be held on the last Friday of each month from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Austin City Hall is located at 301 West 2nd Street. Old Bakery Emporium will feature the exhibit in their second floor gallery, April 5th through May 1st, with a reception on Friday, April 5th, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Old Bakery Emporium is located at 1006 Congress Avenue in Austin.
