Barn Sale at Wimberley United Methodist

The United Methodist Church building is older than you think, as it opened in 1982. Just as all of us, time ages buildings as well. The A/C and heat have a huge job to do in providing a worshipping center for a large congregation.

So ladies and gentlemen of the church jumped right in and decided they would have, not a yard sale, not an estate sale, but thinking big and returning to year’s past, they will be having a Barn Sale.

In charge and the host of the Barn Sale is ninety-yearold Nelda Williams. Taking charge, she is known as “the Barn Sale Lady,” and is as quick with a smile as she is with “put it over there.”

“Since February we have been collecting everything from trinkets to antique furniture,” Nelda said. It is surprising to see the various items that will be on sale, office file cabinets, toys, wake boards, tools, the list could go on and on.

“I encourage those that are spring cleaning to bring their donations to the sale,” the Barn Sale Lady said. “I hope we have good weather for the sale.” Their goal is to raise $8 to 10 thousand for the church.

The Barn Sale will be held May 17 – 19. Friday and Saturday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday 2 to 4 p.m. where the remaining items are marked down 50%.

Available for sale on Friday and Saturday mornings will be breakfast tacos and other homemade goodies with free coffee. They will also be featuring a silent auction.

The location is at 11451 Ranch Road 12 on the Las Piedras Ranch, after Jean’s Antiques but on the right, if coming from town. There will be signs of what driveway to turn to.
