Local chefs come together for KAPS fundraiser

Katherine Anne Porter School will host a Chefs Dinner Fundraiser April 9 at the Wimberley VFW Post 6441 from 6 pm. to 8:30 p.m. featuring four of Wimberley’s top restaurant chefs, with kitchen support from the student chefs in KAPS’ after school cooking program. At $35 a plate, the evening of high-end dining is sure to sell out quickly, so plan to arrive early or - better yet - buy your tickets online in advance.

Each chef or restaurant team will create a signature dish for the evening. Chef Jay Bachman of Wimberley Cafe will cook a flavorful Pork Loin with Green Beans. Chef James Francis and Chef Mark Grimes of Wimberley Supper Club offer a tasty Chicken and Rice dish, while Chef Rob of Longleaf Craft Kitchen + Bar will serve up his savory Shrimp and Grits. Chill’s On the Creek, along with the Wimberley Supper Club, will provide coffee and other libations.

These local chefs are generously donating their time and ingredients to cook about 200 meals. All proceeds go to the Operation Support KAPS campaign. Katherine Anne Porter School students, staff and school parents are grateful for the community support. The students are excited to learn from these top chefs.
