Josephine “Josefina” C. Guerrero

Josephine “Josefina” C. Guerrero, a resident of Maxwell, passed away Saturday, October 7, 2017 at the age of 91. Her family will hold mass at Immaculate Heart of Mary in Martindale this Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at San Juan Cemetery in Reedville. Eldridge Eason

Longtime Wimberley resident, Eldridge Eason (world’s greatest Dad), died peacefully on October 4, 2017.  Eldridge was born March 2, 1927, in Silsbee, Texas to Tom and Palma Eason.  After high school he served in the US Navy during World War II.  He attended college on the VA Bill and graduated with a Business Administration Degree from Sam Houston State University in 1949 and a Masters in Education from the University of Houston in 1952.  He taught business and typing and drove the school bus at Spring Branch High School in Houston eventually becoming a Counselor, Assistant Principal, Principal, and eventually Assistant Director of Personnel.

Fred Ray Wade

Fred Ray Wade, 80, of Woodcreek, TX, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 11, 2017.

Fred is survived by his wife of 56 years, Pat Wade, daughter Kristie (Steve), daughter Kimberly (Kevin), and son Patrick (Jessica), and many loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family. Fred was a loving and dedicated father, husband, grandfather and friend to all.

Fred was an avid golfer and gardener until he was forced to stop due to heath conditions, but he remained active in his accounting practice. He enjoyed sports and attended many basketball, baseball and football games; high school, college and professional, throughout his life.  Fred loved serving at his church, going the extra mile for his clients and supporting many others who needed his help.

Lyle Fredrick Eveleigh

Lyle Fredrick Eveleigh passed away on September 16, 2017 at the age of 76.

A native of Dexter, NY, he attended General Brown High School. He served in the Army for 8 years, where he studied Electronics. After many years working for Emerson Electronics and James River, he formed his own company, MNE Enterprises. Lyle traveled the world as a trouble shooter for all types of industrial plants. He was well respected and had a great reputation in the industry where he became fondly known as the “The Drives Doctor.”  Lyle enjoyed playing pool, singing karaoke and spending time with friends and family.  Lyle lived in Orange, TX much of his adult life and moved to Wimberley, TX in 2005. Even at age 76, he never fully retired, as he loved to work and help others that shared his passion for electronic trouble shooting. Lyle adored Wimberley and was happy to call it home.

Clark Allyn Aylsworth

Clark Allyn Aylsworth, 71 passed away September 15, 2017. He was born September 30, 1945 in Detroit, Michigan. 

He was an Airforce brat that lived all over the world, including Asia, Washington D.C., California and Texas. He was a student at TMI in San Antonio and UC Davis in California. He travelled Europe and worked on a yacht on the Mediterranean Sea. Clark proudly served in the National Guard for seven years. He was co-founder of Auric United and worked with his father as V.P. of United Services Funds. He then moved to the “quiet life” as an innkeeper in Wimberley, Texas and later decided to retire in Rockport, Texas. Clark enjoyed a good laugh and had a lot of passion when he took an interest in something. He cared deeply for his children and will be greatly missed.

Ida Idell Falk Tenny

Ida Idell Falk Tenny lived a brilliant, vibrant life from May 5th, 1942 to September 21st, 2017. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She was beloved by many, and all who met her can recall when they were touched by her grace and kindness. Known to many as ‘Nanny’, her joy and her legacy lives on in her children and grandchildren.

Patricia “Pat” Bishop

Patricia “Pat” Bishop passed away the morning of Wednesday, September 20, 2017, in San Marcos, Texas.  Pat was surrounded by her family as she passed away peacefully.  While Texas had been home for most of Pat’s life, the Bishop family lived in Alaska for over 20 years.  Pat had a large network of friends and loved ones in both Texas and Alaska.  While not adventurous by nature, Pat and her family had the wonderful opportunity to move to Alaska in 1976.  After 20 wonderful years in Alaska, Pat and Hebert “Hit” moved back to Texas and settled in Wimberley.  Pat’s greatest accomplishments in life revolved around her family and friends.  Everyone who met Pat instantly realized her sweet and caring nature; she never met someone she didn’t love, or who didn’t love her.  Pat and her husband of 63 years, Hit Bishop, have three children, seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.  Pat

Robert C. Sherwood

Robert C. Sherwood, 65, of Wimberley, Texas, died peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on September 16, 2017.  He was born in Hugoton, Kansas on December 6, 1951.  His parents, Claude W. and Josephine C. Sherwood, preceded him in death. Growing up in El Paso, Robert graduated from Eastwood High School and received a BS in education from UTEP.  

In 1988 Robert married his true love, Sarah Bardouche’, at Ascension Lutheran Church in El Paso.  Robert was a teacher and coach at Jefferson and Burges High Schools in El Paso, then continued his career for 21 years at San Marcos High School in San Marcos, Texas, retiring in 2012.  Robert enjoyed coaching his own children’s youth sports, especially the Wimberley Warriors.

Dermot Doyle

Dermot Doyle, 91, of Wimberley passed away at home on September 5th, 2017. He was born in 1925 to William Doyle and Martha Warsin Doyle in Chicago, Illinois. Along with his sisters, Luena and Martha, Derm enjoyed growing up in such a vibrant city along the shores of Lake Michigan. After graduating from Waller High School, he joined the US Navy, serving aboard the USS Albe Marle during World War II.

After being honorably discharged from the Navy, Derm continued his studies through the GI Bill and graduated from Northwestern University, later earning a master’s degree from the University of Southern California.  He served many years working for the US government in Europe, first in Paris and then in Madrid.  He was married twice, first to Raquel Lopez and, after her passing, to Carlota Vasquez, whom he survived.  Each marriage, of many years, was to a lovely person.

Doris Marie Jones

Doris Marie Jones, 82, of Wimberley, Texas passed away September 11, 2017 and went to her eternal resting place in Heaven. A Funeral Mass was held on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wimberley.  Interment followed at the Wimberley Cemetery.
