Wimberley’s Tourism Department, headed up by Leeann Kirby, has been hard at work planning for the April 8 total eclipse that could bring as many as 50,000 visitors to the city. The Wimberley Democrats event to meet Hays County Democrats running for office in the March 2024 Democratic primary elections has been rescheduled to Sunday, February 4, from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Oldham- Cumming VFW Post #6441, 401 Jacobs Well Road. A candidate meet and greet will take place from 2:30 to 3 p.m. for uncontested candidates followed by a moderated program from 3 to 5:30 p.m. for races with multiple candidates. The meeting was unexpectedly shut down last Sunday after a problem surfaced at the VFW facility. On February 1, parents will be able to enroll their children for four of Camp CommUnity’s summer camps.
