WIC announces Harvest Moon Dance and mural
The Harvest Moon Dance, hosted by the Wimberley Institute of Cultures, will take place at the historic Fischer Dance Hall on Sunday, October 29 in Fischer, Texas. The dance will feature music by Erik Hokkanen & Friends, a catered dinner by Old 300 BBQ from Blanco, and a silent auction. Doors open at 6 p.m. Fischer Dance Hall is located at 701 Fischer Store Road, about 18 minutes from Wimberley via FM 32. Tickets are $60 and proceeds benefit the Wimberley Valley Museum. Students win Moreman Memorial Scholarships
Robert Moreman worked behind the scenes to support the community he called home, volunteering with several local nonprofit organizations during the 10 years he lived in Wimberley. In his honor, the Wimberley Valley Arts and Cultural Alliance created a scholarship in 2021 to provide opportunities for budding artists and tradespeople. The Wimberley Adoption Group and Rescue had plenty of things to celebrate at their 2023 gala. Not only did their enthusiasts come out in strong support of their mission to rescue and find homes for dispossessed dogs and puppies, but they also celebrated their 2,000th adoption.
