Old Glory hosts fundraiser for King Feed
Old Glory Ranch is hosting a fundraiser for King Feed on February 18 from 2 to 8 p.m. The live music event will offer food and the opportunity for supporters to bid on auction items as well as make a donation at the door and throughout the event.

Barnabas Connection receives incubation grant
The Barnabas Connection has received a $50,000 incubation grant from the St. David’s Foundation to fund lowcost mental health services in the Wimberley Community. The grant will sustain their Clinical Services program.

Wimberley’s Cultural District Expands
WimberleyArts.org continues to command the limelight with the news of the expansion of Wimberley’s Cultural District from a small downtown area to a large triangle that reaches as far north of the Square as the VFW Hall and Rodeo Grounds, as far west as the Emily Ann Theatre, and as far south as Savage’s Hill Country Bar.

Community, environmentalists review Aqua Texas’ competence
Part 1 In a turnout that filled the Community Center’s main room to capacity, Wimberley citizens attended a meeting initiated by The Wimberley Valley Watershed Association and the Trinity Edwards Springs Protection Association last Friday evening. Both organizations presented speakers to clarify the reasons the Hays Trinity Groundwater Conservation District levied an unprecedent- ed fine against water supplier Aqua Texas that led the company to sue the District in a federal lawsuit.

Lover’s Soiree
The 220 Fine Art Gallery is hosting their first annual Lover’s Soiree and Toast to the Artists, February 17, from 5 to 9 p.m. A special, temporary exhibition of new work by Trisha McWaters awaits art lovers along with traditional Valentine’s Day treats of champagne, cherries and chocolate.

The Hill Country Band plays music from Italy
The Hill Country Community Band will present their first concert of the year, “Feste Italiana”, on February 18 at 4 p.m., at the First Baptist Church in Wimberley. Directed by Dr. Manuel Arambula, this free and family-friendly program will include “some Italian blockbusters” such as “The Pines of Rome” by Ottorino Respighi, and transcribed by Guy M. Duker, “Nessum Dorma”, an aria from the final act of Puccini’s opera Turandot and one of the best-known tenor arias in all opera, and “Florentiner March”, an Italian Grand March, by Julius Fucik, Op.214, and edited by John R. Bourgeois.

Shakespeare in Love opens February 23
