As a crowd gathered at Stevens & Malone at Independence Title last week, Wimberley’s newest “Bootiful Boot” was dedicated over the July 4 weekend. Sporting a map of area landmarks, the colorful sculpture, designed by Wimberley illustrator Andrew Audas, was dedicated during a brief ceremony by Wimberley Arts “Bootiful Boot” facilitator, Lynn Jones. A reception was held afterward at Independence Title, 150 FM 3237, with music by Ian Lee of Wildflower Suzuki Studio.
Joe Malone and Mike Stevens founded Stevens & Malone, PLLC, in 2007. Malone assists clients with real estate and business transactions as well as basic estate planning and probate. He also serves as a fee attorney for Independence Title Company with offices in Wimberley and Canyon Lake.
The boot’s design reflects Malone’s affinity for rural state law and vintage maps of the area. Early design ideas centered around old black and white maps, but with its prominent location at the corner of RR 12 and FM 3237, Auden suggested a colorful depiction of Wimberley landmarks, roads, creeks and rivers. The boot sits on a handsome slab of naturally sourced limestone.
