The City of Woodcreek will hold a City Council Meeting on Wednesday, July 8, 6 p.m. at City Hall.

July 1 marked the date that residents can trim oak trees again. An ordinance prohibits pruning from February 1st to June 30th, so now’s the time to trim. As a reminder, residents are required to obtain a tree trimming permit from the city, regardless of species, prior to having any work done. Citizens may apply for a trimming permit, a removal permit, and view the city’s tree ordinances.
The Council kicked off its budget planning cycle with a meeting last week. They received input and comments from residents, and are looking for more engagement to improve our town. Citizens are encouraged to contact City Hall with their thoughts.
The Watershed Association and Meadows Center provided the city with an update on the Blanco and Cypress Creek Watershed Protection Plan and its accomplishments from the first three years. According to Mayor Hines, one promising development is an opportunity with the Woodcreek Water Supply and Infrastructure Grant program, which would provide greater flexibility with our water supplies through a $10 million dollar grant, with no repayment or city match.
City attorneys expect an update in the Aqua rate case in late July, when a judge will issue a recommendation to the Public Utility Commission. The PUC will then make its final ruling, potentially in early October.
