It’s unusual to see two brothers dedicate their careers to the same profession and even more unusual to see them hang up their hats on the same day. Sergeant Steve Cunningham and Deputy Roland Cunningham of the Hays County Sheriff's Office did just that, retiring last week after a combined 67 years of service to the citizens of Hays County.
For decades, Roland and Steve answered the call with professionalism, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to serving others,” said Sheriff Anthony Hipolito. “Their dedication has made a lasting impact on this agency, and their legacy will continue to be felt for years to come.”
Hipolito went on to thank both men for their service, sacrifice and friendship and wished them and their families happiness, good health and “many well-earned adventures in retirement.”
