The Hays County Republican Women recently teamed up with local restaurateurs to host their annual Back The Blue Luncheon, an all-you-can-eat barbecue feast at AMVETS in Kyle to honor our area's law enforcement officers.

As part of National Police Week festivities, around 100 law enforcement officers and first responders from 11 different agencies attended. This marks the fifth year the Hays County Republican Women have hosted this event.

A special thank you goes to JP’S Wimberley BBQ, San Marcos BBQ, Pig Pen BBQ of Dripping Springs, and Bloodworth BBQ of Kyle for donating the food. In addition to the meal, many attendees received door prizes including Amazon gift cards, t-shirts, and a chef’s dinner for four.

Volunteers in attendance from the Republican Women’s club were: Club President Abby Gibson, Allison Baskin, Mary Clarkson, Janie Flores, Alicia Hill, Carine Martinez, Cris Peterson, Deanna Rademachir, and Dustin Weber.

The generous contributions of candidates Rob McClelland (for Commissioner Pct 4), Paul Still (for 428th District Court Judge), Geoffrey Tahuahua (for Hays County Judge), and Mark “Tex” Teixeira (for Congress 21st District) also helped make this a special event for those who keep our communities safe.
