Woodcreek informed its residents of an on-going rabies outbreak in the area. They warned citizens to avoid approaching or feeding wildlife and asked citizens to consider keeping pets indoors at this time as outdoor cats are especially susceptible to infection. Children should be supervised when playing outside and advised all residents to take extra precautions when out walking. If an animal appears to be acting odd, residents are advised to call animal control at 512-393-7896, and all bites must be reported. Animals infected with rabies can be very aggressive and wildlife commonly infected are foxes, raccoons, skunks, bats and coyotes.
