Is It Just Me?

What’s In That Box?

Or in my case, “What’s in those boxes.” I am doing some spring cleaning, at least starting to work on my laundry/storage/cleaning supplies/box-filled room. It is not my favorite room  because it is my I-don’t-know-where-to-put-something room. It is also where my fuse box is, which is often where repair people want to go, no matter how much I try to divert them. So, it’s time to give it a little decluttering. This is not a one day job and I really hope I don’t need any repair people any time soon. But, on with the task.

I already see that I have a ‘thing’ about blankets for my dogs. Lots and lots of blankets. And covers for my sofas. I need a place to fold them and store them off of the floor. The shelves I need to use are filled with boxes — lots of boxes of unknown contents. I don’t remember the last time I looked in these boxes. I wish I had marked what was in them. My goal is to go through the boxes on the shelf so I can put lots of lots of dog blankets there instead. The first box was filled with — boxes. Some were empty and some had items inside that I wouldn’t even remember how to use. I have a GPS watch from probably 15 years ago. I also found a camera that was still in the packaging — from probably 15 years ago. I can recycle the boxes and donate the filled boxes. Someone may get a treasure worth hundreds, or not.

I found weights for the weight vest I used to wear when I took walks. I can’t find the actual vest. And then there are cords — more cords. I just went through a big container of cords recently and now there are more. Seriously, can cords multiply in the dark? To hurry things along, I moved some boxes to the floor, with my dog blankets. I will continue Spring cleaning the shelves later, since it is still Spring.
