Keep Wimberley Beautiful awarded their Community Beautification Award to Community Pizza this week. The award is presented to local businesses each Spring and Fall for their dedication to keeping Wimberley businesses beautiful.
“It was a close competition between several downtown businesses who all excel at their landscaping design and maintenance,” said Keep Wimberley Beautiful President Kat Locke. “We were delighted to also learn that they retained their customers’ unconsumed water to water the outdoor plants.”
Presenting the award were Locke, KWB Secretary Linda Swift and KWB member Terese Wagner. Accepting for Community Pizza was Manager Bri Avila and Landscaping Designer Casey Bass and her planting assistant, Monica Verdin.
Said Avila, “It’s an honor to receive this award. Casey has put her heart and soul into these plantings since we opened in 2019.”
Designer Bass, who is expecting a child in July said, “The fact that my plants were noticed is a huge honor for me, especially since I grew up here. I really appreciate Monica’s help with keeping all of this perfectly maintained.”
