The Texans historic season came to an end last Thursday as the Wimberley fell to the Liberty Panthers 4-0 in the state semifinals following a one-game series.
Wimberley finishes the season with a 29-8-2 overall record, setting a new program record for most wins in a single season.
The Texans fell behind 1-0 in the bottom of the third inning on an RBI single by the Panthers before Liberty scored again in the bottom of the fifth on a two-run home run.

Liberty tacked on their final run of the game on a passed ball as the Panthers went on to win 4-0 while holding the Texans to no hits for the entire game.
Wimberley set a new standard for the program, setting a new program record in wins while advancing to the state semifinals for the first time in program history in addition to capturing their first ever regional title.

With just two graduating seniors on this year’s team, the Texans will surely be back in contention for another run at a state championship.
