The regional championship is coming back to Wimberley as the Texans swept the Floresville Tigers in a two-game series.
Wimberley improves to 25-8-1 for the season.
In Game 1, the Tigers took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first, scoring on a Texans fielding error.
Wimberley was held scoreless through the first four innings before finding their footing in the top of the fifth inning.

Gentry McGinnis put the Texans on the board with an RBI single in left, tying the game at 1-1. Following McGinnis, Jayden Hall connected with a two-run RBI double as the Texans took their first lead of the game at 3-1.
After Cannon Couch hit an RBI single, Alex Abrusley hit an RBI single of his own as Wimberley took a 5-1 lead.
The Tigers were unable to score any runs after the first inning as Wimberley took Game 1 5-1.
McGinnis pitched a complete game, allowing four hits, no earned runs, two walks and striking out seven batters to earn the win.
In Game 2, the Wimberley bats pounded in the Tigers in the bottom of the first. Maverick Jacobs started the at-bat with a two-run RBI single followed by Santana Raye’s RBI single as the Texans went up 3-0.

Wimberley added two more runs on a Floresville error before Jayden Hall connected with a two-run RBI double to put the Texans up 7-0.
The Tigers answered back by scoring six runs in the top of the second as the game was now at 7-6.
The game entered a weather delay in the fourth inning before being postponed to Saturday and moved to North East Sports Park in San Antonio, the site of Game 3.
After restarting the game, Floresville scored three runs in the top of the sixth as Wimberley trailed 9-7.
In the bottom of the seventh, the Texans were down to their final out with runners on second and third as Jacobs came up to the plate.
Needing just one swing, Jacobs hit a two-run RBI double in left field, tying the game at 9-9 and sending it to extra innings.
In the bottom of the eighth and still tied at 9-9, Wimberley put runners on the corners with one out.

Couch hit into a fielder’s choice to second base as Dane Mignerey, who was on third, raced to home plate. Mignerey beat the throw home as the Texans celebrated a 10-9 win over Floresville and captured the regional title.
Wimberley advances to the state semifinals for just the second time in program history as the Texans face the Waco Robinson Rockets in a three-game series.
The Rockets are the champions of Region 3 in 4A Division II, beating the Hamshire-Fannett Longhorns in a three-game series. Robinson was second in district play with a 7-3 overall record behind China Spring.
Game 1 will take place Thursday at 6 p.m. while Game 2 will take place Friday at 4:30 p.m. Game 3, if necessary, will be played 30 minutes after Game 2.
All games will be played at Georgetown High School.
