Indie Americana singer-songwriter Lynn Crossett will be performing at Wimberley UMC’s Susanna’s Kitchen, May 21, at 7:30 p.m.

“Blending elements of folk, Americana, and indie storytelling, Crossett crafts songs that are introspective, heartfelt and resonant with emotional truth,” writes Bernie Larsen, of the Ojai Underground. “. . . Crossett’s music has been called “Leonard Cohen meets the West Texas wind.”

In 2022 he released “In the Company of a Song,” which debuted at No. 6 on the Roots Music Report Top 50 Americana Country Album Chart, and stayed in the top 10 for eight weeks.

In June 2025, he released, “Autumn to August,” which debuted at No. 4 and reached No. 1 following week. With its release, Crossett has embarked on a full-time music career.

Crossett began playing music as a college student in Austin, Texas. He now lives in San Marcos and teaches there full time as a law professor at Texas State University.

Crossett’s performance is part of the Susanna’s Kitchen Coffeehouse Concert Series at the Wimberley United Methodist Church located at the corner of RR12 and CR1492. Tickets are $25 and sold at the door; cash or check accepted. Doors open at 7 and the concert begins at 7:30 pm. Tamales, pizza, pie, coffee and soft drinks are available for purchase. Proceeds benefit the Barnabas Connection, Bright Beginnings Preschool scholarships and other nonprofits. For more information go to wimberleyumc.org.
