The City of Wimberley will hold a Wimberley Time Capsule Ceremony, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Oak Park, 102 Oak Drive. The ceremony marks the sealing and burying of historical items since the city incorporated in 2000.
April 24
“The Outsider,” a clever political comedy by Paul Slade Smith opens on the Wimberley Players stage, 450 Old Kyle Rd., at 7:30 p.m. The funny political satire follows Ned Newley, a painfully awkward policy wonk who becomes governor. Tickets are $30 for adults and $20 for students with ID. Tickets available at wimberleyplayers.org.
Wimberley’s Parks and Rec Department brings another “Concert in the Park” with the Jesse Stratton Band, from 6 to 8 p.m. on the swim lawn at Blue Hole Regional Park. Free to attend, with nibbles from Schoolyard Dogs and Monster Treats, and beer and wine from Roughhouse Brewing available for purchase. Presented by the Friends of Wimberley Parks.
April 25
The Watershed Association’s series “Land. Water. Connection.” will present a program April 25 at the Meadows Center for Water and the Environment from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Called “Activating Stewardship: Strategies for the Future,” the session will explore rainwater harvesting, One Water principles and the evolving strategies that can help households and regions adapt during times of record drought. Wimberley Valley Big Band’s will present a free Big Band and Swing Concert and Dance, 7 to 9 p.m., at the Wimberley Valley Winery, 2825 Lone Man Mountain Rd. in Wimberley. A dance floor is available. Bring lawn chairs, blankets. Organizers say parking fills up fast, so early arrival is advised. Weather permitting.
Wimberley UMC is holding an Earth Day Celebration and Crawfish Boil, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m, at the church’s “Pumpkin Patch” at the corner of CR1492 and RR12. Earth friendly exhibits and a crawfish dinner are part of the fun. Crawfish dinners are $25 and organizers recommend they be purchased in advance at wimberleyumc.org. Hot dogs and drinks are also available for purchase.

Stand up comedy at 7A Ranch’s Opera House, 333 Wayside Drive, 7:30 p.m., is headlined by nationally known comic Donna Lee, with comic and voice actor Mike MacRae. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Beer, wine, canned cocktails, nonalcoholic drinks and snacks available for purchase.
