Chapel in the Hills to host annual giant sale April 17–18

Chapel in the Hills to host annual giant sale April 17–18

Chapel in the Hills will host its Annual Giant Sale April 17–18, offering thousands of low-cost items to the public while raising funds for ongoing community outreach programs.

The sale will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days inside the church’s fellowship hall, which organizers say will be filled with a wide range of donated goods including clothing, kitchenware, toys, electronics and outdoor items.

The incredible pricing and selection are the main draws of the event.

“All of our clothes are 25 cents, except for our boutique clothes,”  Louise Faulkner, special events coordinator for Chapel in the Hills, said. “Everything — clothing, shoes, hats, gloves, purses — is 25 cents.”

After everyone has had one shot on Friday, Saturday will feature a box sale, allowing shoppers to fill a provided cardboard box with items for $5.

The event is intended to provide affordable goods to residents facing rising costs, while also generating funds that support the church’s outreach efforts.

“People’s budgets are very tight right now, and they can come in there and get four garments for $1 — nowhere else can they do that,” Faulkner said.

Proceeds from the sale are used for church maintenance and community programs, including monthly donations to nonprofit organizations and an annual winter clothing giveaway that provides free coats, blankets and other cold-weather items to the public.

The fellowship hall, which can accommodate up to 250 people, allows the sale to be held indoors and air-conditioned. The event typically draws large crowds, with attendees lining up before opening.
