One of the most anticipated events each Spring is the Civic Club’s Home Tour. This year, the self-paced, two-day tour will take place April 10 and 11, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Ticketholders will have the opportunity to tour six homes that exhibit Hill Country living in its many expressions.

A three-home Hill Country compound called the “Twin Oaks Estate,” was originally built as a model home and later extensively renovated to include twelve bedrooms across three residences, each with its own kitchen and living spaces. Outdoors on the property is a pool, hot tub, fire pit and a private pickleball court.

At “Casa Colinas,” living areas flow easily toward an outdoor pool and patio where sweeping Hill Country views are the norm. A light-filled studio above the garage is a creative retreat that overlooks gardens, patios and gathering areas.

Set on twelve scenic acres, is a property called “The Gathering.” Originally built in 2002, the home reflects the spirit of Wimberley in its handcrafted details and collected artwork. Accessibility was central to a 2024 renovation and the home now tastefully incorporates a wheelchair-accessible suite and mobility-friendly features throughout. On the grounds are a pool, fire pits, a pickleball court and a disc golf course that winds through the property.

“Serenity” is an architect-designed Hill Country compound set on twenty acres that thoughtfully blends Hill Country vernacular design, sustainability and artistic expression. A barn studio, office loggia, and steel-framed deck house are designed with rainwater harvesting and passive solar principles. Overlooking a seasonal creek below is a dramatic infinity pool and grill area.

The newly-built “Hilltop Modern Retreat” is a refined yet comfortable interpretation of contemporary Hill Country living. It was built from a close collaboration between the homeowners and Lambert Homes. Clean architectural lines are balanced by warm natural materials. Large windows invite natural light and frame views of the surrounding landscape.

Wimberley’s oldest documented stone house (circa 1856), the Winters-Wimberley House, sits high above Cypress Creek within view of the Wimberley mill complex below. Descendants of Pleasant Wimberley lived here until 1997 when the stone house and surrounding five acres were purchased for community use. The home was restored, has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 2002, and now serves as the Wimberley Valley Museum.

Tickets for the tour can be purchased now at wimberleyccc.org or in person at the Wimberley Valley Visitor Center, 14100 RR 12 on April 1 and 2, and April 7 through 10, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on April 11 from 10 a.m. to noon. Tickets that are purchased online can be picked up at the same dates and times. A copy of the receipt is needed.
