The Wimberley Community LEO club presented a set of new flags to the Wimberley Village Library during a brief ceremony recognizing the partnership between the youth service organization and the library.

Library Director Carolyn Manning accepted the flags on behalf of the library from Gracie McLean, President of the Wimberley Community LEO Club, along with several members of the club.

“The library is proud to host the Wimberley Community LEO Club and supports their mission of service to the community,” said Manning.

LEO Club President McLean expressed appreciation for the library’s continued support.

“We are proud to donate these new Texas and American flags to the library and appreciate the use of the facilities and all the support the library provides to our members,” McLean said.

Funds for the purchase were raised by the LEO Club through the sale of lighted novelty items during the New Year’s Eve celebration on Wimberley Square.

The club also thanked Eagle Mountain Flag Company for its generous discount and Wimberley Convention and Visitors Bureau for supporting the LEO Club’s fundraising efforts during the event.

The Wimberley Community LEO Club is part of Lions Clubs International. The LEO program provides young people with opportunities to develop leadership skills while serving their local, national, and international communities. As of 2025, the program includes more than 200,000 members across more than 7,700 clubs in over 150 countries.

The core focus of the LEO program is Leadership, Experience, and Opportunity for youth.

Founded in 2025, the New Wimberley Community LEO Club serves students ages 12–18, with a focus on youth from homeschool, charter, and private school communities. The club is chartered by the Wimberley Lions Club. The Lions Club has also historically sponsored LEO clubs at Wimberley High School and Katherine Anne Porter School.

The Wimberley Community LEO Club meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 5 p.m. In addition to meetings, members participate in regular volunteer activities, including monthly visits to residents at Deer Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation and other community service projects determined by club members.
